Clean your Amethyst jewelry on a regular basis to protect it against the build-up of dirt and grime. The cleaning process is simple and can be done with items found at your home.
Dating back to biblical times, the amethyst gem is known for its rich shade of purple. Originally discovered and named “Amethystus,” which means “sober,” by the Greek people, the stone was thought to protect one’s body against drunkenness. In addition, the stone is often displayed in both Buddhist and Catholic religions; however, it is most notably known as the February birthstone.
